Capture receipts on the go and simplify expense handling
With iMATRIX App, you can photograph receipts while away from your desk and prepare your expenses. A clean crop and a careful review help turn the photo into a useful working record.

Capture the receipt while it is still at hand
After a meeting or a purchase, a receipt can quickly disappear into a bag. Later, you may have forgotten the context or lack the time to reconstruct it. Mobile capture starts earlier: you save the receipt while it is in front of you and add the details while the reason for the expense is still fresh.
iMATRIX App supports receipt photography within the intended expense workflow. The image is a starting point. Your subsequent review determines whether the expense is complete and correct. Good capture conditions and appropriate information therefore work together.
Four steps towards a readable receipt
Place the whole receipt in view
Lay the receipt as flat as possible on a stable surface. Make sure there is enough light and avoid reflections. Hold the camera so that all the edges of the document remain within the image.
Wait for detection and focus
Capture quality is checked on the detected receipt. The automatic photo is taken once the frame has stayed green continuously for two seconds. If detection is unstable, improve the distance, lighting or alignment before trying again.
Review the crop and preview
After capture, check that the relevant receipt has been included and that all important details are readable. If the image is blurred or an edge is missing, repeat the photo before continuing with the expense.
Check the expense details
Review the required information, particularly the date, amount and business context. Complete or correct the form as needed. Recognised information supports your work but does not replace your own checks.
Quality matters before and after the photo
A readable receipt makes later processing easier. Distance makes a difference: too far away and the characters become small; too close and part of the document may be missing. An angled view or shadows can also make information difficult to read.
Take a moment to inspect the preview rather than relying only on the fact that the camera triggered. Check whether you can actually read the important details. This is especially useful for long or folded receipts and documents printed with weak contrast. Another photo is worthwhile if the first image does not provide a usable record.
Three habits for a clearer process
Capture promptly
Photograph the receipt shortly after receiving it. This makes it easier to remember the reason for the expense and notice early if information is missing or difficult to read.
Put completeness first
A second photo is better than a hard-to-read record. Check the entire receipt and the information in the form before passing the expense to the next stage of your intended process.
Organise access appropriately
The expenses you can view or edit depend on your role and the enabled functions. Follow your company’s workflow and share receipts only with people who are authorised to handle them.
Frequently asked questions
Is every recognised detail automatically correct?
No. Lighting, print quality and the layout of a receipt can affect recognition. Check the information before saving and correct it where necessary. Receipt capture does not guarantee error-free automatic interpretation.
Does a receipt photo automatically create an accounting entry?
The photo prepares the expense for processing. Further checks, assignments and any accounting treatment depend on your configured workflow. An image alone does not replace these steps.
